South African fintech startup Moya Money, established in 2021, has undergone a rebranding and will now be known as Bloo Money, effective May 2024. In a recent statement, the company explained that the decision to rebrand reflects its ongoing evolution since updating its branding assets earlier this year. The name change aims to set the company apart from others with similar names, inject vibrancy into the fintech sector, and acknowledge the global presence of its co-founders, who operate across different continents.

Founded in March 2021 by Thulani Masebenza and Sabica Pardesi, who are based in South Africa and the UK respectively, Bloo Money empowers freelancers through its financial app.

What they are saying…

Our product vision has always been centered around transforming how freelancers manage their work and finances, with a focus on fostering a healthy relationship with money,” remarked Ms Pardesi.

Mr Thulani added, “In choosing a new name, we aimed for uniqueness, playfulness, resonance with our creative customer base, and global accessibility in pronunciation.”

Bloo Money assures that its core product, a freelance management system (FMS), will remain unchanged, continuing to assist businesses with freelance administration.

While our products and services remain consistent, the rebrand underscores our renewed emphasis on innovation, customer-centricity, and differentiation,” the company emphasized in its statement.
