Ben Boateng, a former senior director of Exworks Capital and managing partner of Monument Corporate Finance, has joined venture capital firm, ODBA.
He is a global financial market, trade finance, and private capital investment professional. As a senior director of Exworks Capital, a growth capital fund, and managing partner of Monument Corporate Finance, a debt advisory business advising corporates on cross-border refinancing, acquisitions, and disposals, he brings strong international deal execution coverage and expertise to the firm.
Ben’s merger & acquisition (M&A) expertise spans the industrial and technology sectors, and he continues to sit as a non-executive director on the board of Africa Mobile Networks, a sub-Saharan African, private equity-backed, solar-powered infrastructure towers business.
Ben Boateng holds BSc and post-graduate degrees from the University College London (UCL).
BNP Paribas, Fortis Bank, GE Capital, Trade Finance Partners, Trade Finance Solutions (now eCapital), ExWorks Capital, and ACAP GP LLC are some institutions which molded his skillset in asset-based lending, leverage finance, venture debt, and global supply chain finance.
His valuable expertise also spans corporate finance, global investor relations, deal structuring, portfolio management, and fundraising for the purpose of venture capital allocation.
As an integral part of ODBA, Ben will ensure that the firm executes sound returns from the opportunistic capital the firm invests, whilst implementing robust and efficient portfolio strategies in the investments the firm will continue to make.
Ultimately, his mission is geared toward increasing institutional venture capital flow to stimulate empowerment and financial inclusion across the African Continent. With this appointment, ODBA has made a strong statement about its intentions in Africa’s venture capital space.
