Union54 (54 is a nod to the number of African countries) is a fintech company founded by Perseus Mlambo and Alessandra Martini. The startup claims to be Africa’s first card-issuing API and only just launched this year. But to paint the picture, Union54 didn’t come out of thin air; it is a project from the couple’s earlier startup Zazu. Read more

Kuzlo has just secured an undisclosed amount from Nama Ventures in its pre-Seed fundraising round.
Kuzlo was established in March 2021 by 4 co-founders Ayman, Tarek, Bassem & Gebril with the main focus of operations in Alexandria providing its customers with better customer service and gaining their trust in delivery times. Read more

Twiga which landed funding for it’s Series C rounding round from . Juven, TLcom Capital, IFC Ventures, and DOB Equity all made large follow-on investments in the round, while OP Finnfund Global Impact Fund I and Endeavor Catalyst Fund participated as new investors.
Twiga is a B2B food distribution startup founded in 2014 that uses openness, efficiency, and technology to create fair and trustworthy markets for agricultural farmers and retailers. Read more
The round which was oversubscribed had in participation from Angels and VCs such as Launch Africa Ventures & Consonance Investment Managers.
