Cybersecurity Startup Port443 Secures Funding to Expand Operations into Africa and the Middle East

Port443, a South African cybersecurity startup, has received an undisclosed amount of funding to help it expand further into Africa and the Middle East.

Port443, named after the standard IP network port for HTTPS traffic, is a software development firm specializing in security automations and integrations. Port443 provides management and technical teams with at-a-glance views of the status of their security estate via custom platforms and OneView dashboards, allowing them to actively manage vulnerabilities and respond to breaches.

Port443 was founded in August 2021 by ML Conradie and Tony Walt, and its customers include well-known companies in the ISP, manufacturing, and retail industries throughout the Middle East and Africa. From its Johannesburg headquarters, the company currently services hundreds of firewalls for automated compliance, as well as a plethora of OneView dashboards.

Iziko2.0, a technology investment firm, has now provided funding to the startup, with RMB Ventures providing additional support.

“The funding will be used to expand Port443’s reach further into the Middle East and Africa region by adding key software development personnel, and supporting our marketing, sales and product enhancements for early adopters of next generation automations in cybersecurity,” said Conradie.

“Having worked with ML and Tony for years, we know their business approach and are confident that Port443 will deliver against our mandate. We are also excited about our partnership with RMB Ventures,” said Iziko2.0 co-founder Scott Gibson.
