Healthtech Dileny Technologies secures US$160k non-equity grant from ITAC
Dileny Technologies (DilenyTech) LLC, an Egypt-based healthtech startup, has secured a US$160,000 non-equity grant from the Information Technology Academia Collaboration (ITAC) program affiliated with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
The fund, which was received a few months after the startup was awarded a US patent for a novel AI-enabled image analysis technology, will be used to expand its AI-Enabled platform to improve and expedite breast cancer detection.
DilenyTech develops solutions for medical imaging analysis, breast cancer risk assessment, and structured reporting in several medical applications. The company has provided its services to top-tier international health tech companies with active users in 3 different continents.
The team combines both professional and scientific experience with +15 years, and +90 scientific publications, and 3 US patents.

DilenyTech has been ranked the 2nd in the Decoding Health Challenge organized by Health 2.0 Egypt and UNESCO in Dec 2019 and is sponsored by Etisalat Misr and Novartis. DilenyTech was chosen among the top 50 AI startups to watch in Africa 2020 according to Baobab Insights.
Recently, DilenyTech launched the first worldwide bi-lingual AI-enabled breast cancer risk assessment tool in Arabic and English. Also, the startup developed a vendor-neutral technology for ultrasound imaging that was awarded a US patent and validated throughout several studies.
Breast cancer has been the second most common type of cancer with about 2 million new cases per year worldwide. More than 400 million breast examinations are performed annually while there are insufficient radiologists to report those examinations and notify patients in a timely manner.
