Africa Tech Summit, a leading African tech conference created to connect tech leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and businesses, is hosting its fifth event on February 15-16, 2023 in Nairobi. The event is taking place at the Sarit Expo Centre, the most significant space of its kind in the Westlands area of Nairobi, Kenya.
Africa Tech Summit Nairobi is working to connect tech leaders from the African ecosystem and worldwide under one roof. The 2023 flagship summit hosts three tracks: Africa Money & DeFi Summit, the Africa Startup Summit, and the Africa Mobile & App Summit. Africa Tech Summit’s tracks will bring together tech players from across the continent in each of its focus areas.
Additionally, networking opportunities with key stakeholders in tech corporations, mobile operations, fintech, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) & crypto ventures, investors, leading start-ups, and more will take place. Africa’s tech ecosystem is projected to experience exponential growth from an estimated $115B to $712B by 2050, according to a recent report. The report attributes the youthful population, rise in smartphone technology adoption, and internet penetration as a few factors that make Africa a vital player in tech on a global scale.
The report further notes that “by 2030, Africa is expected to have a total of $2.5 trillion in consumer expenditure from over 1.7 billion consumers,”
The report outlines five important sectors in Africa’s startup landscape: financial services, commerce, transport, healthcare, and education. The report also identifies the continent’s key markets where growth is taking place: Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Egypt.
Africa Tech Summit is also conducting a live pitch competition for startup ventures who want to showcase their solutions and are seeking funding or partners to assist in scaling. Applications for the fifth edition of Pitch Live are now open, with ten African startups selected to pitch their company and solution on stage to an audience of investors and corporations. Submissions are open until January 16th.
