South African Tech Startup Raises R2.2-Million

LetMeIn.to, a local tech startup that has created an innovative software-based access management service, has secured R2.2-million in funding from an undisclosed impact investor.

The funding will be used to expand and scale up the startup’s current visitor and access management platform.

The seed fund reportedly provides capital and support to value-aligned entrepreneurs which create businesses that have a positive social impact on society.

LetMeIn.to

Founded in 2020, the tech startup offers advanced access and visitor management solutions aimed at large organisations who might have multiple locations.

Earlier this year, in the wake of the pandemic, the startup developed CoronaFighter, a chatbot and web-enabled app that assists organisations to screen and track Covid-19 symptoms among their employees. As a self-monitoring process, the CoronaFighter provided a much-needed solution to many corporations in contact-tracing, reducing the risk of spreading the virus and ensuring the safety of its workforce.

The unique technology and platform, CoronaFighter has been created and developed by doctor duo Jarrad Van Zuydam and Rick Diesel, Paul Van Zyl from Sigma Digital along with Daniel and Devon Solomon from LeadRobot.

Jarrad Van Zuydam, co-founder of LetMeIn.to. provides insight into how CoronaFighter works.

“Large organisations require a simple and streamlined process to manage the movement of people on their premises. Instead of cumbersome paperwork or complicated app-based systems, LetMeIn.to’s visitor and access management software meet users on the apps they already use. Adhering to the strictest security and privacy standards, a ubiquitous chatbot is encrypted end-to-end ensuring minimal interference.”

Gaining traction since its launch, the CoronaFighter became LetMeIn.to, a fully integrated enterprise visitor and access management solution.

LetMeIn.to has reportedly created the first integrated suite of compliance-based visitor and access management applications. The tech startup platform and app includes an admissions chatbot, QR scanning access management app, and a detailed management dashboard that showcases live statistics and provides detailed reports.

Marc Weselaar, CEO of LetMeIn.to elaborates on the functions of CoronaFighter.

‘”In addition, the CoronaFighter module can screen and monitor Covid-19 symptoms, and trace contact and infection-freeto keep the workplace infection free.”

How does it work?

For company employees, visitors, or contracts to gain access to a specified area, the easy-to-use WhatsApp chatbot must be activated. Once prompted, the chatbot will send a unique QR code to the user, providing them with access to the premises.

In addition, it will notify the concerned parties of their arrival.

The platform also allows users to book and access a workspace or meeting room.

Admin users are provided with real-time data from the management dashboard, indicating a live view of who is on the premises at all times. With a developed and high tech system, admin users can adjust the access zones for each individual, limiting entry to certain areas and having control over overall movement.

In the event of an emergency, the platform will facilitate a rapid evacuation and provide a head-count of all individuals, ensuring that each person is safely out of harm.

Van Zuydam sheds light on some of the challenges faced in creating the innovative platform, LetMeIn.to.

“One of the key challenges of launching compliance software is adoption. We are taking a unique approach that combines the reach of WhatsApp and other instant messaging platforms with a highly focused product strategy providing a solution that can be rolled out to tens of thousands of multinational employees in a single day. LetMeIn.to is a comprehensive, easily integrated tool enabling organisations to control access to their premises, monitor the attendance of employees and visitors, and disseminate information seamlessly throughout their company.”
