The first contract includes the construction of overhead transmission lines (OHTL) and the turnkey construction of the 220 KV Double Circuit Toshka 2/Owinat East (in/out) connection to Toshka 4 substation.
Approximately 60 km of line will be laid, using ACSR 380/50 mm2 conductors type and shield wire GS108 mm 2 with a completion period of 4 months.
The second fast track contract is for a Toshka (4) (3×175+ 5×40) MVA, 220/66/22 kV GIS substation. The project includes engineering, design, fabrication, factory tests, as well as the installation of power transformers. The contracts are estimated to be worth around US$54 million and are expected to be completed in a period of 10 months.
The project will be implemented within 10 months from the date of notification of the tender’s acceptance.
The contracts include the implementation of a project to construct a transformer station in West Port Said, under the turnkey system, at a value of EGP 288 million (US$18.41m), which will be delivered within a year.
The total contracts signed by the Elsewedy Electric since the beginning of the year has now reached nearly EGP3 billion (US$0.19bn). The last contract it signed, valued at EGP355.5 million (US$22.7m), took place last month, and relates to the construction of an electrical transformer station in Sadat City.
It is noteworthy that El Sewedy Electric Company is the leading company in the implementation of high voltage lines. It has constructed more than 1,000 km of lines (220 kV – 500 kV) inside Egypt and Africa, in addition to establishing many transformer stations (220 kV – 500 kV).
