Ogun State Signs MoU With Private IT Firm, AOA Windstream Limited

The Ogun State Government has entered into a strategic partnership with a private IT firm, AOA Windstream Limited, to improve waste management. 

NB: A MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) is a formal agreement between two or more parties. 

Ola Oresanya, Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun and Chief Executive Officer of OGWAMA, stated that the waste management sector is a strong catalyst for investment opportunities for both native and international investors, and presented evidence for this assertion. 

Oresanya went on to emphasize the significance of this memorandum of understanding, which was established primarily to deploy technology through the use of an electronic billing system as a catalyst to boost revenue generation from waste management in the state. 

At a press brief held in Abeokuta, he said, “This collaboration will bring to bear the development of vibrant, functional, interactive, suit for purpose and holistic electronic solution platform that possess capacity to address all issues relating to the whole gamut of billing system from the beginning to the end”

“The features of the electronic billings system amongst others are:  

  • Automation of industrial/commercial waste management operations and payment system such as e-billing, e-payment, e-receipt etc.  
  • Onboarding of new and existing clients (industries and commercial outlets) after due enumeration.  
  • Electronic tagging of the clients to monitor their waste management process.  
  • Electronic database management of all industrial waste collectors (PSP) for better efficiency.  
  • Avenue to make e-enquiries/complaints that will engender better service delivery.  

This Electronic Billing System will enhance this Agency operation in no small measure and bring about better service delivery to our clients, especially in the industries and commercial sub-sector”.
