ElevateHR Africa, a Kenyan Startup, Secures Funding to Expand its People Management Software

Following recent early stage funding by From Here Ventures, cloud-based HR management platform ElevateHR Africa has named Kennedy Nybwala as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Nyabwala has ten years of experience in the tech startup industry, having worked for some of Africa’s top tech firms. He was the most recent Global Head of Logistics at MarketForce and a former founder of Bwala, one of the top African logistics startups.

His journey began when OLX was introduced to Africa as a product ambassador. He moved up the ranks quickly and is now the Head of Insights in Africa. Kennedy later became the Head of Strategy and Customer Growth at Copia Global before founding the logistics start-up Bwala.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Kennedy to our team,” said Mark Karake, Co-founder and Board Chair at ElevateHR. “His track record of success in driving growth, innovation and leadership in tech companies will be instrumental in taking ElevateHR to new heights. One of the signs of a growing ecosystem is when we begin to find amazing individuals with the right experience to work with. Nairobi’s startup scene is on a march.”

ElevateHR is a cloud-based human resource management platform created by a group of young African fellows. The Modern HR system is intended to integrate various HR functions for both administrators and employees, resulting in a unified approach to HR management.

ElevateHR provides modules such as payroll, salary advance, leave management, and performance management. Their mission is to create innovative solutions that will assist organizations in better managing their people and succeeding in the twenty-first century.

“It is with great honor that I accept this appointment as the CEO of ElevateHR. This comes at an exciting time as we prepare to scale the brand throughout Africa with the aim to  help companies grapple with automating Human Resources  (HR)functions.”

“It’s amazing how many organisations are still using paper-based processes for information such as personal details, time-off requests, performance, salary amendments and payroll changes. Our platform can help reduce the bottlenecks in a bid to equip the human resource team to concentrate on their key functions,” noted Nyabwala.

Payroll processing on Excel, leave management, performance and appraisal, onboarding and offboarding, and other manual tasks are common HR issues that businesses face.

According to recent data, HR spends more than 40% of their time on repetitive tasks as a result of manual operations, which are time-consuming, inefficient, and costly.
