RECAP: “The Round Table”

GetFundedAfrica hosted Greig Jansen, CEO of Pura Soda & former Country Manager of Coca -Cola Ethiopia in its first Round Table Discussion on Saturday, 26th of July from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (SAST).

Speaking during the Event Tunji Oke, Co-Founder GetFundedAfrica, “We realize that one of the main reasons that investors find it difficult sometimes to invest in African Startups is because of a knowledge and skills gap.”

“So, we have video-on-demand courses where we educate and equip entrepreneurs, would-be and existing founders of startups on how to win funding from investors,” he said.

“Africa is one of the most exciting continents for me to work in, certainly from a learning and from a business point of view, I don’t think there is a better continent to really be on” Greig stated.

“All of the big giants and the big co-operations, you would have seen a lot of press very recently where Africa is kind of the last scramble from a continent to basically build your business success, there is a number of major co-operates that are piling in, a number of other countries as well, so I think it is time for the continent to shine.”

“It is very important to have the right ethos as Greig has mentioned, and this is why we think that this discussion has been very important.’’ Debo Omololu Co-Founder GetFundedAfrica noted.

“We are passionate about helping companies that want to raise anything from US$500k to US$10mn but we can’t reach everyone so because of this, in partnership with some hefty Banks & Telecom Companies, GetFundedAfrica will be launching a fundraising guide or an investor readiness guide which is going to be online and will be launched on the first of August.”
