Who is Jimi?
Jimi Ogbobine is the Head of Consulting in Agusto Consulting and also heads the Research of Agusto & Co, Nigeria’s leading Rating & research company.
Jimi also served on the National Job Creation Committee as Head of the Research team. The Job Creation Committee was established by the Federal Ministry of Finance to design strategies and plans by the Nigerian government to create jobs and reduce the unemployment rate in the country.
Work experience
Jimi also created the framework for the Thisday BGL Index – Nigeria’s premier independent equity
market index established by a leading investment bank and newspaper publication. He also initiated coverage notes on banks and cement companies while he was in the Research and Strategy unit of BGL Plc.
He joined Consolidated Discount Limited in October 2012 and set up the Research and Corporate
Development Unit. Across the years, he has been involved in various pioneering work and helped
management achieve their goals and target. He is currently the Head of Research Department at
Agusto & Co, Nigeria’s leading research and rating company.
Agusto & Co
At Agusto & Co, Jimi has held various speaking and training engagements with the board and
management of leading Nigerian commercial banks and corporates. Jimi’s focus in these
engagements with management is on the Nigerian macro-economy and on financial strategy.
Jimi has trained local and international banks on the Nigerian economy and financial strategy.
He has also trained several Pension Managers such as AXA Mansard PFA, Total E & P CPFA, Agip CPFA and quite a number of Nigerian banks such as First Bank, Ecobank, Sterling and Fidelity Bank.
He is also a regular contributor to Business Day and Thisday and also speaks on CNBC and Channels TV.
Volunteering & Educational background
In 2014, Jimi led a group of technocrats who volunteered for the Buhari/Osinbajo presidential
campaign. The major highlight of the volunteer service was hosting a town hall meeting and fund
raising where Jimi moderated a session with the vice-presidential candidate and the campaign
director general.
Jimi has attended financial courses at the Euromoney School of Finance and the West African Capital Market School. Jimi also volunteers as a mentor to youths seeking new career goals and
opportunities. Jimi is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a graduate of accounting of Yaba College of Technology.
He has completed courses with Wharton on Business Analytics and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management on leadership. He is also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School Senior Management Program.
